Who is responsible for delivery and setup of the castle?
Rumble Grumble Parties will deliver all goods to your house or venue. Delivery cost is applicable to all areas. We will set up and dismantle the jumping castles as part of our service to you. Customers are allowed to collect certain of our jumping castles, water slides and/or equipment only.
Is there any delivery charges?
Yes, please check your suburb here. Free delivery in southern suburbs applies to any order of R350 or more. R70 delivery will be charged for any orders below R350 in the Southern Suburbs.
How long do you need to set up and take down a castle?
Approximately 15 minutes, depending on the unit booked and access to the location.
When are your castles available?
Our castles are available for hire on Saturday’s and Sunday’s. Special arrangements need to be made for public holidays. Please note that there will be an additional cost applicable for public holidays as we need to cover the cost for staff that will have to be paid accordingly.
When do you deliver?
We deliver between 7 am and 11 am. However, we try to be as flexible as possible so please ask at the time of booking if you need a specific time slot.
When do you collect?
We collect between 5 pm and 7 pm. Please note that we do not collect later than 7 pm as we can’t expect our drivers to work such long hours. They are just human and also have families.
How late can I leave it to book?
During the summer months, we are very busy so you are advised to book early to avoid disappointment. We recommend that you do not leave the booking later than 3 weeks in advance.
I do want to hire, but not a jumping castle?
Regrettably, we only hire tables, chairs and party decor out if your order one of our inflatables.
How and when do I make payment?
Payment is required to be made within 24 hours of booking to confirm the booking. We require at least 50% deposit up front as we cannot hold a booking. Deposits/payments are strictly EFT or by credit card with balance in cash on delivery. Bank transfers will not be allowed unless you agree to pay the bank charges of R30.
Are your castles clean?
Yes, they are vacuumed and cleaned with an antibacterial solution. Please keep in mind that if you have a Sunday booking that the castle will have gone out the Saturday and unfortunately our staff are not always able to clean the castle 100% before they deliver it to you for a Sunday party. In this case, they will clean it properly when they deliver it at your house/venue.
How much room do we need to inflate a castle?
The dimensions of the castles are on our web site under Jumping Castles. You will need an extra meter around the castle to allow for the inflation tube and air blower at the back together with space for the children to run around and enter the unit. Any overhanging trees and prickly bushes need to be pruned back. Please check the height of the unit you are booking.
Does the castle have to be set up on grass only?
Although it is preferable to anchor the castle into a grass lawn, castles can be set up on concrete surfaces. Castles cannot be set up on stony or rocky surfaces. We do need to be informed if the jumping castle is to be inflated on a surface that does not allow for pegs to be used (e.g.: paving). The castle needs to be tied down in this situation. Therefore there need to be points where we can tie ropes to. Examples: Trees or fence. We do not use sand bags as they are not sufficient in Cape Town weather conditions.
Are there any special requirements?
Castles cannot be set up near power lines, overhanging trees, braais/fires and/or sharp objects. An electrical power socket must be supplied to power the electric inflating blower that must run at all times. Please make sure that there are no stones or sharp objects on the area that we will have to inflate the castle on. Please clean the area before our staff arrive as they have limited time to set a castle up due to they having a full delivery schedule and can’t be late for the next party.
Do you supply safety instructions?
This will be emailed to you on confirmation of booking. You can also read it under our T&C’s.
What if there are steps to get to the set area?
If there are steps you will need to notify us when making the booking as the castles may weigh between 100kg and 250kg and it is difficult to push up and down steps. Note there is a “no steps” requirement for certain castle.
Does someone need to supervise the operation of the jumping castle?
Yes. For the safety of the children who will use the jumping castle, a responsible adult over 18 years of age must supervise the jumping castle and any other items hired at all times. If at any time you cannot provide the proper supervision then all equipment should be switched off and plugs taken out the plug sockets. Equipment should then be pushed or taken out of children reach if no responsible supervision is available.
What if I want to hire a castle in a public area?
We will deliver to any venue (Except the beach). It is your responsibility to make sure that there will be electricity for the jumping castles as well as get permission. We do not have generators available. We will supply you with a 20m lead. We will not set any inflatable or any of our equipment on the road.
What is the maximum weight allowed on the castle at one time?
100Kg – 150kg depending on the size of the castle. Please make sure you read and understand our specific rules to follow. If you don’t understand, please do not hesitate to ask.
What happens when it’s windy or rains?
As our castles are anchored firmly they can operate on a breezy day, however, if the winds are too strong we may be forced to cancel your hire (although this only happens on extremely rare occasions). In the event of strong winds or rain, we reserve the right to cancel the booking if we feel safety will be compromised. We also warn that rain can still enter the castle if blown in by the wind and this may make the jumping surface slippery. If it starts to rain the children must leave the inflatable and the adults must deflate the units and store in a dry place until it stops raining. If the Jumping Castle stakes come loose, pull the corner back and re-stake. If the wind is stronger than 22 kts then the unit should be deflated and rolled up to prevent the castle from blowing away.
How to Cancel my booking?
Please refer to our cancellation policy under our terms and conditions.
What happens if we damage the jumping castle?
If the damage is considered by us to be malicious then you will be liable for the full cost of repairs & transport costs associated with the repairs as well as the loss of business costs while the castle is repaired. We strongly suggest that you check the jumping castle before the delivery person leaves, and note any problems with the driver.
Is there anything else I need to be aware of?
Streamers, poppers, silly string, face paint, chewing gum, candy floss, food, cakes and drink MUST be kept away from the jumping castle at all times. If this has occurred and the jumping castle has been damaged it will be considered malicious and you will be liable for the full cost of repairs, transport costs associated with the repairs and the loss of business costs while the castle is repaired.
Delivery will only be done on Saturdays and Sundays.
How much electricity do they use?
Between 1kw & 2.5kw dependent on the castle. Typically they will use less than 20 units for an entire day inflated. Each jumping castle requires its own plug point if you hire more than one castle. If not, then the castles will draw too much current and will keep tripping your power.
Date changes:
Date changes can only be accommodated if at least 14 working days’ notice has been given and if the items are still available on the new requested date. Less than 14 working days’ notice will result in you losing your deposit and a new booking will have to be made. No money will be carried over to the other date due to us losing out on a booking. Only written date changes will be accepted. Date changes that have been made 14 days before party date, has 31 days to re-book the party, otherwise, you forfeit any money paid.
Can I collect the jumping castle?
Some of our inflatables and equipment can be collected by customers, however, this is not the case of our big castles such as our pirate ship, dragon tower, etc. please check with us if you would like to collect.
